The branch membership voted today for a stop work action on 28 August 2023 unless significant progress is made toward achieving the branch’s priority claims.

Members also voted to work over the coming weeks to organise meeting workplace by workplace to determine the strike-readiness of their work areas in order to join the longer strikes already voted on by some work areas.

To do this, local work area meetings will be called to democratically determine the strike-readiness of those areas for longer stop work action which can effectively limit the operations in those areas.

The membership also called on the membership to donate to the University of Melbourne branch strike fund, to help support income relief for strikers. click here to donate
